What is ClearTrack?

ClearTrack was designed to help teachers collate and use data derived from using a number of standard (and non-standard) tests that are currently employed by Australian Primary schools.

ClearTrack turns data into real information at one stroke of the keyboard

Teachers Collect and enter just the raw score from a wide selection of standard tests, and ClearTrack then instantly converts this information into the standardised scores without the need to painstakingly look up this information

The information can be displayed in a range of ways:

  • ✓ As raw data
  • ✓ As a scale score
  • ✓ As a stanine
  • ✓ As a percentile
  • ✓ In reading age (or spelling age etc.)
  • ✓ As a graph

ClearTrack is a web based system that allows one quick and easy place to collect and store academic and qualitative data for individual students from Prep (or preschool if required) to year 6.

ClearTrack is great for all types of reporting on individual students, and whole classes and full year levels in the current year or over a number of years.

How does a school begin to use ClearTrack?

  • Initially individual student personal data (name, address and other data required by the school) is entered into ClearTrack by NRMS from data provided by the school (data is uploaded from the school’s student management system))
  • The school checks the data and ensures the correct students appear in the correct class (Administration task).
  • School determines the level of teacher access (a number of different levels are available ranging from a "whole school" view, "individual class" view, "teaching group" view etc.)

How does the Teacher get started in ClearTrack?

  • Run your tests in the normal way then in ClearTrack open a relevant Standard test (or Tailored test) and select the booklet used, add the date ofd the test, enter just the raw score and ClearTrack does the rest.
  • Yes it really is that easy

It’s that simple. ClearTrack automatically displays the information -

  • As a graph
  • As raw data
  • As a stanine (where applicable)
  • As a percentile (where applicable)
  • As a scale score (where applicable)
  • In reading age (or spelling age etc.)

What are the benefits of using ClearTrack?

ClearTrack allows for the collecting all standard tests (including NAPLAN) for a student in one place to let teachers easily access information and track student progression over their primary years. ClearTrack contains and extensive database of standardised scores from a range to Tests commonly used in Australian schools so that Teachers no longer need to manually look up these scores. This will improve the efficiency of Teachers and the accuracy of the data recorded.

ClearTrack is really about using and learning from evidence based data.

Having all your student test data accurately record in one place will have many benefits including:

  • Teachers can easily see areas where improvement is needed.
  • Teachers have access to testing results from all previous years schooling, as well as the current year
  • ClearTrack uses data across multiple tests instead of relying on one test at a time which could provide an inaccurate representation of the students' performance.
  • ClearTrack allows schools to use data in a format that is easy to understand and evaluate.
  • Cleartrack provides excellent data integrity (it's easy and it's all in the one place).
  • Reduces teacher time in collating, managing and reporting test results.
  • In a single management view for Principals about student, teacher and class performance.
  • Has the ability to demonstrate to parents the students' quantitative performance results.
  • Underpins teaching planning and delivery for individuals and classes to improve academic performance sustainably over time.

Specific Benefits for Catholic Schools?

ClearTrack has been working the Catholic Schools to allow them to use ClearTrack to record the required test results for CEVN, and ClearTrack will produce the data in the required format for CEVN upload.

Other helpful reports are currently being developed for regional and State educational bodies.
